Catananche caerulea

Clump forming perennial with papery daisy-like cornflower blue flowerheads on tall sturdy stems July to August.  Excellent cut flower as are the seed pods at the end of their flowering period.  Loved by pollinating insects. Full sun or part shade best and moist but well-drained soil.  Catananche are not happy in cold winter wet. Height:  1m Spread:  50cm Depending on the time of year you order this plant it may have been cut right back showing little or no foliage.  This is part of our ongoing care of plants on the nursery and will not affect the viability of your plant.  We may also trim plants to fit our packing boxes for mail order purposes, again this will not affect your plant’s capabilities.
