Buy Hardy Plants

Here you’ll find a selection of hardy plants that we regularly grow.
The size of the pot they are grown in is included in each plant’s description. As we are an independent working nursery propagating, splitting & potting on are constant tasks throughout much of the calendar year. Therefore your plant will be despatched in a pot size according to its place in this process, either 9cm or 1 litre. Occasionally we will attach a label to let you know that a particular plant has recently been potted on recommending that it stay in its pot a while longer than usual.

Your plants may be dormant when they arrive showing little or no foliage. This is normal for the time of year you receive them. Best planting out times are September to October or March to April – but please ensure you do not plant out when the ground is frozen or a deep frost is forecast.  In especially warm weather remember to water in well when planting out and continue to water regularly.
When you receive your plants, remove all packaging (notice this is plastic free!) and give them a good drink of water, preferably from the bottom, by standing in a pot saucer filled with water until the plant has drunk as much as it needs. Refill the saucer if your plant is particularly thirsty!
As a general rule, plant out to the same depth as it is currently in its pot. Continue to water in well, especially in dry periods.

Happy Browsing & Happy Gardening!

SHIPPING PLANTS TO NORTHERN IRELAND

It is with great regret that due to the significant complications arising from the UK exiting the EU we are now unable to send plants to Northern Ireland. We of course will continue to monitor this and in time hope that we will be able to resume deliveries in the future.  Thank you to all our loyal customers in Northern Ireland.  We look forward to being able to supply our plants to you once again in the (hopefully!) not too distant future.
Thank you for your understanding
